About me
Martina Nicholas is the owner of Sunflower Curls Studio & creator of Sunflower Curls Education. After transitioning from straightening her hair in 2017, she shifted her cosmetology career & built a full book of curl clients within 4-5 months using social media. Her goal was to help others with curls gain comfortability in their hair by providing them low maintenance routines that focused on the health of the hair & high impact results.
Her education program focuses on providing stylists with the proper tools to not only work with any curl shape but to truly understand the mind of their clients, how to help them through their hair trauma from previous appointments where they received poor service & the when & whys to the steps they’re taking when styling, cutting & coloring all curl shapes.
She has educated with brands such as DevaCurl, Oligo Professional & Sally Rogerson Academy as well as created content for those brands along with KareCo, Ouidad, Bounce Curl, Shyy Beauty & more. She is apart of the Modern Salon artist collective, has had articles published by Beauty Launchpad & styled hair for the Super Bowl.
In her spare time she focuses on intention & mindfulness to create the life she wants, teaches yoga & models part time.
